Morley @ Holborn Library Workshops
Saturday 11 November
• Painting & Drawing with iPad with Matthew Cort 11am-1pm
You will need: iPad or iPhone with the Brushes (free) or Procreate/Procreate Pocket (very cheap) apps installed; if you do not have an iPad, some will be available. These informal workshops will introduce you to the use of the iPad and iPhone for digital painting and drawing. You will be guided in developing your drawing and painting skills, incorporating images from your own Photo Roll, making collaged artwork using layers, and experimenting with your own ideas.
• Recycled Journals with Lucy Baxandall 1pm-3pm
As winter draws in, it’s time to reflect on months past and plan for months to come. Make your own journal to carry with you, record your thoughts and collect mementos. Your handmade book will have a notebook section and a fold-out concertina with pockets to collect and store memories, as well as a tie fastening to keep everything safe. Suitable for all ages, a great family project for a November afternoon.
• Soap Carving with Alex Harley 3pm-5pm
Use soap to make a small carving and ‘find the inner sculpture’ using simple tools. Tools and soap provided – just bring your imagination!
Sunday 12 November
• An Easy Way to Print on Fabric with Cara Rainbow 12.30-1.30
Cara Rainbow thinks art should be achievable with or without specialist equipment, in a studio or in your living room, and most importantly; accessible for all. In this workshop Cara will show you how to use readily available materials to make a mono print in 5 minutes. Using this method you will be able to create and take home your very own unique print, and contribute towards a collaborative flag design. This quick and easy process is suitable for all ages and abilities. Just bring your imagination!
